Prom Dress Distress

Its the beginning of January, Christmas was a week or so ago and girls are already posting pictures of their prom dress. This is insane, prom isn't until May!

How do they even know that they will have a date? I do give major props to the girls who go solo, however if you're hoping to get asked and you are already posting pictures of your dress, just stop! You  seem WAY too focused on prom when we are in the middle of winter. What if you buy a dress, buy tickets for you and your date, and then he changes his mind a week before? What would you do then? I know some of you are thinking that because you have a boyfriend today, you'll be with your boyfriend for prom, but thats not always the case. Things change and you may end up taking a friend or riding up solo to prom, not saying thats a bad thing but some people decide last minute not to go, then what do they do with their 'perfect' dress? Try to sell it, wait until next prom, maybe, but if you are a senior and have horrible taste in dresses, you're stuck with it.

But can we please just talk for a moment about the dresses that people are planning to wear?
Are they really appropriate for a school event?
I'll list off some qualities of some dresses I have seen so far;
-Hole in the middle, exposing stomach
-Low scoop back that stops just above the butt
-Low scoop neck reaching belly button
-See through material on the ENTIRE dress
Do you really want to show your body off to the entire school, including faculty members?
Besides dresses being inappropriate, most of them are just plain ugly!

DO NOT BUY A DRESS IF IT IS ANY OF THESE CHARACTERISTICS;
Lime Green, Brown, Multi Color, Hearts, Glittery, Cheetah, Leopard, Tiger, (Really, just don't buy any animal print dresses), Electric Yellow, Feather Skirt, Ruffled Skirt, See Through Mesh, Distressed Rips, Bedazzled (ex: Super Fake Gems and Stuff, yuck), Metal ANYTHING, Duct Tape.
AND, if it is shorter than your shins, DONT WEAR IT! This is the one day besides Halloween and your wedding day where it is acceptable to dress like a princess and wear big puffy, gorgeous gowns! (Some High Low dresses are acceptable.)

Some examples of these Prom Dress Dont's:

Duct Tape is not a suitable material to make clothes out of.

She looks like a hippies failed attempt at tie dying a dress that was never meant to be dyed.

This is just an ugly dress.

This looks like something a color blind three year old would wear.
You are not a bird!

An unnecessary resemblance to a jelly fish.

Hey jungle girl, put your fur back on!

I will say, I love to shop and look for prom dresses, but I wont start committing myself to a dress until prom is maybe a month or two away. So girls, slow down, you have five months to look for that 'perfect' dress, take your time and don't rush things.

Christmas Music Horror

It's that time of year, Christmas is two weeks away and the holiday festivities have been kicked into overdrive. At the mall 'Santa' and his little helpers take toy requests from children, families are flooding to Christmas tree sellers to find the perfect tree to take home and decorate, parents and friends shop for Holiday clearances at stores, sparkly twine, holiday reefs and candy canes cover everything. The decorations, great deals and hustle of the season don't bother me, but there is one thing about this time of year that I can not stand, and that one thing is Christmas Music. However, I can tolerate it for about 30 seconds if I am joke singing the lyrics to someone, but I can not handle listening to the festive music in any serious manner.
'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer', and no one called the cops, thats illegal, whose gonna tell grandpa?
'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Under the Mistletoe', what would daddy say? His wife is cheating on him with a childhood hero! That is not okay.
'Let It Snow', no, don't let it snow, I have plans today and a foot of snow wont do me any good!

Writers Block, I Suppose

I don't even know what to write about.
I don't.

I sit here and think, doing a cross word, maybe that would help but no.
It doesn't.

I never know what to write about, what would interest me, or others.

Who am I even writing this for?
I know I'm not writing this for myself because I don't know what to do.
If this were for me, I would have an idea, but I don't.
And so I ask, who is this for?

I can't think of one thing to write about, except of course how I can't think of anything to write about, which is technically one thing.

So I guess I can't think of two things to write about.

I don't even want to think about things to write about, maybe that is why I can't think of anything to write about, my brain isn't letting me think.

My mind doesn't want to work right now and so it is shutting down, blocking off all communication and thought process, getting ready for a nice nap, a small daydream, a thought, a happy memory.
And as Mr. Ahnert asks his phone about a giraffe eating a donut, I just care less, and fall deeper into thoughtless abyss.

I understand that this is part of my grade but I just can't fathom a thing to write about that would interest me or anyone else, which is the point of this blogging time, right?
Write something and others will read it.
If you don't write something and nobody reads it, you are a failure.

Why do people do this for fun? Its no fun unless you can be vulgar and inappropriate. But this is school. Nothing vulgar or inappropriate here!

I don't know what to write about, but then again, you and I both know that we don't care. I know I just want to go home and watch HGTV shows with all those cute Canadian hunks and nap on my couch.

Neither of us has learned anything worth-while while here. You know this to be true.

This is just one big waste of our time, one meaningless grouping of words, one tired teenager complaining and one  big chunk of writers block.

Welcome to life. I really don't care if you enjoy it or not, I am going to nap now.

Baseball is a Joke

I do not like baseball, I find the entire 'sport' to be frivolous and useless. Go ahead and watch America's favorite pass time made up of nine, slow action, innings lasting about three sometimes fours hours long, I applaude you for your patience.

Seeing that you are watching a sport that is a modified game of catch.

Let us observe the 'skill' that is required to play baseball, basically, if you can run, throw a ball fast or hit and catch said ball, you can play baseball.

But seriously. What a joke this game is, what a boring, dry joke that I never wanted to hit my ear drums.

The only good parts about baseball are the food and mascots, assuming that you are actually sitting in the arena and not lounging at home on your couch tweeting about how good your team is doing when they are down in the bottom of the third (inning that is).

I can not deal with how slow this game occurs, some may argue that golf is worse, but that topic shall be saved for another time.

Today is the sixth game of the World Series, Boston Red Sox at home against the St. Louis Cardinals, this game could be it. If the Red Sox win, they win the World Series, if the Cardinals win, they play one more game to decide it all.

Honestly I could care less, I don't live in Boston, I don't like baseball, I am not a fan of either team on their own, of course if I had to decide on a team to cheer for and hope the best for, I would choose the Boston Red Sox. I live in New England so I didn't really have a choice.

Go Sox!

Acting Gone Wrong

Let us talk about Kristen Stewart, a wanna-be-rebel off screen and a joke of an actor on screen. She is best known for her character Bella Swan in the movie series, 'Twilight' that made its debut in 2008, like many other movie series such as 'Harry Potter', it was a book turned movie, but unlike 'Harry Potter', this series probably should have stayed a book, or at least casted better people to play the role of Bella.

I understand that Kristen's character Bella had a dull and awkward personality, which frankly made Kristen a prime choice because she has the same personality traits. However when casted to play other roles she is just not a good enough actor to leave her boring personality behind and take on an entirely new persona as other actors have the ability to do.

She plays all of her roles the same, awkward and cold. For example, in the 2012 film 'Snow White and the Huntsman', Kristen played the main character, Snow White who is known as a kindhearted maiden trying to escape her step mother who wants to kill her and take her beauty. Through out this film Kristen sat in the back ground, which as a viewer I was thankful for, but when she did speak she did what she always does. During intense and dramatic scenes she breathed heavy and gasped for air like she had just finished running a marathon, she lowered her voice to a raspy groan that was just unpleasant to hear. Her lack of acting abilities sickens me. Aren't actors supposed to take classes and study their roles before they actually start to film?

Logic Underground Sensation

Not many people have heard of a young rapper named Logic, or better known as Young Sinatra. I personally did not know about him until my brother forced me to listen in the car one day, and I fell in love. Since that day I have listened to every track by Logic, even the mix tapes he made before he was signed to a label. 'Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever' an album released May 7th, 2013 under the label Def Jam Productions is his latest release. With new tracks such as, 'Roll Call', 'The Come Up', 'Nasty' and my two favorites, 'Young Jedi (ft. Dizzy Wright)' and 'Ballin (ft. Castro)', with a smooth beat he talks about his success and how he has achieved so much in such a short time.
Logic said in an interview, "You are not defined by the material you possess or the amount of money in your bank account, what defines you is how you attain them." He believes in working hard for what you want, and he has. In other tracks on the 'Welcome to Forever' CD, songs such as, 'Feel Good', 'Walk On By', 'The High Life (ft. Elijah Blake)', and 'Just A Man', Logic confesses his troubled past dealing with issues such as; racism for being half African American and half caucasian, failing out of high school, living in poverty and being surrounded by drugs and violence, but he never once pitied himself, instead he preaches about how he overcame all the hardships and how his experiences made him the man he is today. Logic has grown his career with the same flawless and inspirational lyricism that he attained and improved upon only through hard work and dedication, he is an inspiration and always a pleasure to listen to.
