So here we are at the end of the semester. I enjoyed this class a lot. It was fun, I got to learn many things. But I am severely disappointed in the participation this class has shown. Here we have a blog for us to put down our thoughts, our feelings, our ideas. And yet, for some odd, strange reason, few people seem to even care about what others have written. And comments are an even greater rarity.
Would it kill people to check out some of these posts? I see many titles that catch my interest that have no views at all. Why is that? How is that? Are people just lazy? Do they think, "No one actually takes this blog seriously, they probably are only putting something down without effort." If they are thinking like this, they are quite blind. Big posts, and even posts with pictures take time and energy!
But bitching about it now won't help. It's the end of the semester. And now, this blog will be left on the web, probably forgotten. Or maybe not. Who knows? The future will come, and as I always say, "Time reveals all."

I cheated Death... AGAIN!
Throughout life, we have scary moments. We have good fortune and bad fortune. I seem to keep getting one end of the spectrum or the other. Allow me to elaborate.
When I was young, I heard about children having divorced parents, and thought I was happy my parents would never split. Queue misfortune; my father left my mom over a decade ago, and has changed for the worse ever since.
Over two years ago, my family had to leave Goffstown and move here. Not of our free will. My mom didn't have the money to afford a moving company, so, being the oldest, and strongest in my family, it fell to me. I moved everything we had. The refrigerator, the stove, the furniture, everything. I moved it, practically all by myself. Misfortune right there. But even then, there was some good luck as well. Because with all the heavy lifting I did, my body did not suffer an adverse affects. Lucky me. And I was moving stuff that should have been too heavy for me to move.
Back in Goffstown, there was a storm once, that caused the power to go out. My mom, and I with my siblings walked outside, she to see what happened, us to follow her. She saw that the cable had disconnected from the house via a tree. Meaning, the cable was on the ground, still connected to the power lines, meaning it was live. She told me to take my siblings in the house, and here's the thing; me and my siblings rarely listened to my mom back then. But that night, something told me to listen to her, and I herded my siblings back inside the house. I barely escaped death.
Even earlier, before I was even born, my mom was in a car accident. It broke her back, and she had three months still to go with me. She refused any surgery for her back because it risked my life, and I was born healthy and strong. Again, I slipped through Death's fingers.
But recently, I had another brush with death. Just last week, I believe. We moved again, during the fall, to another house. Granted, it is smaller, but it is a place for us to call home. But the man who owned it was a man who did things himself. He spliced wiring, installed certain things. The house is safe, as long as we avoid certain things. My near-death-experience was caused by his haphazard wiring of the house. I had found this lamp, and my mom wanted it in her room. The outlet, while it had a plate, was missing one of those slot things that you plug cords into. I thought it as merely a cover like the plate, not something necessary, as I soon discovered.
I proceeded to try and plug it in. And to my shock, no pun intended, blue and yellow sparks shout out of the outlet, long with the snapping and crackling of electricity. They were beautiful! But deadly. I could have died. As soon as it happened, I jumped back, dropping the cord. Upon looking at it later, I saw that the prongs had been charred and burnt. Again, Death nearly grabs me. And again, I narrowly avoid it.
Then I discovered that the cord I was using to start up the snow blower these past couple of weeks had a break in the rubber insulation. There was exposed wiring, and yet I had somehow avoided touching it, all those times I grabbed it. The break was near the end, too, and I never touched it!
Some would say I have been incredibly lucky. Others that it is mere coincidences. Still others would say that I might have made a deal with the devil to not die. But I tell you, it is none of those things. In fact, it is the exact opposite of the last one; God is simply looking out for me. I give credit where credit is due, and I would not be alive still today if it had not been for Him. In a way, I suppose, that's His way of saying that I have a very important job to do here on Earth. I just can't help but wonder what it might be...

The death of one of our own. And no one cares...
The world has become corrupted.
This may not sound like news to you, but even I didn't even realize the extent to which we had declined. The generation I am a part of is inconsiderate, and thoughtless, thinking only about themselves. For every rule, there are exceptions that prove it. I am one of them, although I confess to selfishness every now and again. But not to the extent I see others.
Yesterday, an announcement was made, that a student in this High School that I attend, died of cancer, God rest her soul. The announcer asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of this student. I would have been silent. I would have taken time out of my Advisory to honor the memory she left people with. But I couldn't, because I did not hear the announcement. You know why? Because everyone in my Advisory was talking talking talking, yapping away for no other reason except they were bored. The shame I feel for being a part of such a group of students is beyond words.
Today, we were supposed to wear pink, in support of the fight to find a cure for cancer. Granted, I saw many people wearing pink, or at least wearing a pink ribbon. But I have seen far more wearing normal clothes, not even a splotch of red that could be considered close to pink. Even I, a man who would not wear pink if I could help it, asked my sister to wear her pink hat, in support of this cause. People do crazy things for spirit week, and yet only a percent of BHS's students would go out of their way to honor a spirit no longer with us? Whoever she was, I was I knew her name, died young, way too young. She could have had a bright future ahead of her. But now, she does not, and her family must find a way to live on without an important member of their family.
It goes beyond that however! In Chemistry, we are taught to obey rules and observe guidelines. When we were doing a lab where we set metals on fire, I saw more than one student playing with their fire. ave they no respect for the dangerous forces they are dealing with? Have they no respect for rules? Do they care so little about their safety?
In this world we are growing up in, it is becoming painfully clear that it is more important for us to make ourselves happy, instead of others. That what we feel and think is what matters, not other people. That we should make ourselves happy, before we think about others. This is selfishness in its purest form, and it is disgusting, revolting! Were it that I could speak to everyone and make them aware of this! But alas, I can only really express my humiliation of this with you fellow classmates. Perhaps you can print this out, tape it up on the walls, or write the URL in a bathroom stall. I see written trash in there all the time. How about we send out a negative message to be constructive instead of 'fuck this school' and drawings of penises all over the walls. How about we actually work together to spread the message to rethink our values and whats important, and try to save ourselves from a future where people will stab one another in the back if in benefits themselves. Because if we continue down this road, that is what will be waiting for us at the end of it.

Women Roles
The role of genders. It is a controversial topic. The problem is, people have so many different views that nothing can change at the moment. Another problem is that people want perks without the drawbacks. Don't get me wrong, I fully support gender equality. But there are some things that will always prevent such an ideal from becoming reality.
For example; if a man hit a woman, what would you think of the man? He had no right. He shouldn't even speak to her anymore. He is an asshole. Probably something along those lines, right? But what if a woman hits a man? Now what do you think? He probably deserved it. Go woman, standing up for herself. You are probably pondering why she hit him. That is an excellent example of one of the reasons gender quality will never become a reality. In order for gender equality to exist, both genders must be equal in all areas. The punishments and condemnation applied to a man who hit a woman would also have to apply to a woman who hit a man. But that will never happen, because society, to this day, views men as women's protectors, not the other way around, which makes it worse for a man to attack a woman than the other way around.
Another reason; males are biologically different from females. We can build muscle faster, he have great fighting instincts, and we are less prone to emotional problems. Females on the other hand can attain flexibility faster than males, they have a higher pain tolerance, and their minds mature faster than a man's. We are created differently, and we always will be, and that will always set us apart.
Not Without My Daughter. Sad movie so far. An Iranian man tricks his American wife to move with him to Iran, where he holds her prisoner, beats her a bit, and threatens to kill her. And he says he loves her! He treats her like an item, and that is how most men in the Middle East treat their women; like items, things, livestock, pets. They discipline them so they act in a way that pleases them. Can you say, narcissistic? What is happening over there is just plain wrong. The woman wants to leave Iran, head back to America where she can be free, but she can't because of Iranian laws regarding women. Again, this is wrong! Personally, I am having a hard time imagining them becoming more civilized. But hey, I am open minded. It could happen. But I don't see that being true for the majority for a long while now.
The truth of the matter is, men and women are not created as equals in every field. Overall, yes, they are equal, but no male is created with the same strengths as a female. Each has a head start in certain areas, each is better at certain areas than others. There is a reason we refer to people as either being a man or a women, and that is because there is a difference between the two! They are not the same, unless they go out of their way to make it so.
However, that does not mean that society should set their roles in stone. People should have the choice to be who they want to be. They should have the option of raising themselves up to higher heights than normal. They should be allowed to aspire to greatness, and should be given the opportunity to attempt to achieve that greatness. Who are we to say what a man or woman can or cannot do? We are not God.
My mom was in ROTC, and she was able to meet all the men's standards for physical fitness, except the mile run. But besides that, she was just as strong, if not stronger, than the other men with her. This is proof that if a person puts their mind to it, they can achieve more than what they were originally designed for. We are humans. Adapting, evolving, and improving is all in our DNA.
In case you are confused as to where I stand in this issue, let me point it out. I believe that looking purely from a scientific point of view, both males and females will have areas they will be able to develop easier than the opposite gender. I believe they are capable of going beyond what they may find easier. And I also believe that opportunities given to men should be given to women, and women given to men. I believe both genders should have equal opportunity in life to make themselves better, and they should not be hindered by social expectations. I believe that while each of us may be well equipped for a certain line of work, that does not mean that we have to put up with that line of work. I believe we are capable of forging our own destiny.
I am sure lots of people will view this, so I am curious as to what people have to say about what I have typed here. If you feel I am wrong about anything here, feel free to comment about it, maybe include some examples, or proof, to support your refuting of any of my statements.

Snow, snow, where art thou snow?
So, it is getting colder, and we still have yet to get any snow. Anyone else find this ridiculous? I dunno about you, but I think if it is cold, we should at least be getting some snow out of it. Snowball fights, snowmen, the whole works! I particularly love snowstorms where we are stuck inside, having to keep warm by fires. Those are the best winter moments. And skiing! I can't wait to get back on the slopes! Nothing is as exhilarating as rushing down the snowy mountains, the cold wind rushing past you as you rocket past other skiers. I never feel more free than in those moments.
So, hopefully Snow Miser decides to send us some white powder soon. (For those of you who watched A Year Without a Santa Claus, you'll know who I'm talking about.)

Me me me me meme! ANIMEME!
Who doesn't love a good meme? Whether it is a "One does not simply..." from Lord of the Rings, or that "Y U NO ..." they are enjoyable to read. I was recently introduced to Animeme, where this person takes these memes, puts a voice and animation to them, and posts them on youtube. What I really love listening to are the rap battles though. Personally, I feel rap is a waste. Most rap has bad messages anyway. And there is no skill required except to be capable of rhyming.
Anyway, the Animeme Rap Battles, or ARBs, are hilarious. He basically has two well known memes go head to head in a battle of rapping. There was Slenderman vs. Unwanted House Guest, (or UHG, as I refer to him) where Slenderman pwned him, especially with the "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" part. And to be honest, UHG mostly sounded like a very creepy stalker. Emphasis on the creepy part.
Then there was Courage Wolf vs. Insanity Wolf. Awesomeness. The animation was awesome to watch, being action packed as the two lupines went at it. I honestly don't know which won that time. While Insanity is extreme and, lets face it, crazy insane, Courage is awesome in his encouraging people and inspirational words. "Every atom in your body was forged in a star... QUIT BEING A P*SSY!" And then there is "You are the result of 4 billion years of evolutionary success... START ACTING LIKE IT!" The most inspirational one I can think of though, is "Born with a physical disadvantage? Playing life on hard mode!" And there are so many more awesome ones, I can't possibly list them all here. The most amusing one I've heard from Insanity Wolf would be "Dress up as a little girl... RAPE PEDOBEAR!" Well, it's about time that furry pedophile got a taste of his own medicine, don't you think? Have fun, Insanity!
Memes are wonderful. They are inspirational, amusing, informative, entertaining. The world we live in right now practically revolves around memes. And remember, one does not simply contribute to a blog without reading what others have contributed as well.

Moral issues
Everyone is familiar with the phrase "Honesty is the best policy." It's one of those nursery rhymes we grow up with. Those rhymes were not made to be forgotten though. They teach lessons, as all nursery rhymes and stories do; they have advice and moral as well as ethical education.
But it would seem that the world we are growing up in is becoming more and more dishonest every day. This is bad for multiple reasons, the first being that trust is destroyed, and becomes more fragile. When we speak, there will always be someone listening. Therefore, we must always speak the truth, or else say nothing at all.
The media has become biased, only delivering parts of a story, and not the whole thing. The media is meant to inform us of the world we are growing up in, the world we are living in. We rely on it for information, to help us make decisions. If we are not getting the full story, we could very well be making wrong decisions. After all, what say does the media have in what we are entitled to know? We deserve the truth!
But we must also be honest with ourselves. We have to look at ourselves from someone else's point of view, and decide what we think. We should not lie to cover up our mistakes, or pretend something is right when we know it is wrong. Standing by and letting something wrong continue to exist or continue is the worst form of lying there is, because not only are you falsely demonstrating that you're okay with it, you are facilitating its continuity, allowing it to thrive on. Do not stand by, and allow crimes against humanity to go unpunished. And to clarify, a crime against humanity, in reference to here, is anything that you would not want done to yourself or others.
Another catchy phrase is to "walk a mile in someone else's shoes." We shouldn't be quick to judge others, because we are not them. We should instead try to think of all the different situations that could possibly be going on in their lives. Just as we would not want other people to judge us while we are in a bad situation, we should not judge others who look like they are.
Consideration. Take a moment, really, and think about what is means to be considerate of other people. Does it mean you be nice to everyone? Does it mean if someone does something for you, you repay the favor? To be considerate is to take in how other people were feeling, are feeling, or will feel when deciding on a course of action. I have been the victim of many people being careless and inconsiderate with their actions. My father left my family, abandoning us, without so much as a warning. He didn't care if he hurt us, if he hurt my mom, whom he had been married to for over a decade. All he cared about was his own happiness, and we had to suffer for it. I tell you, every pain I feel is dull compared to the pain I experienced the night I found out my father was leaving my family.
I am a Catholic. Did you know that greed is one of the Seven Deadly Sins? Greed; the simple desire for things. The desire for more. This is another destructive element in society. It is a private matter, but suffice it to say, recently my life was extremely affected in a negative way by someone else's greed, resulting in hardship for me and my family. And if you look at movies and books, you will notice that whenever someone gets greedy, misfortune befalls them. What we instead need to be is thankful. Thankful for what we have. Because when we look at the world, when we really look at the big picture, we are not that bad off. We are alive, we are fed, we are well rested. We may be a little stressed from working, but at least we have actual work to do. Some people can't find work, or in student's cases, get an education. And without that, no one will hire you. Be thankful for what you have, because it may, without any warning whatsoever, be taken away from you in the blink of an eye. It's not like we will be living here for all eternity; we all die, at one point or another. What we achieve here will not affect us when we die. We won't come back to have fun with all the stuff we collect and whatnot. Focus on bettering the world, so that as you leave it, it may be in better shape than when you first entered it.
Me and my girlfriend, Alletta, we are honest with each other. We don't hide anything from one another, and if something is bothering us, we tell the other about it. This has allowed our relationship to blossom into something wonderful and beautiful. And this is the first real relationship either of us has gotten into! We have been dating for more than a year and a month. Take your time, get to know a person, and then try dating them. Make sure you have stable ground, before you start building a serious relationship.
Marriage. What does that mean to you? In my faith, it is the unity between a man and a woman, who love each other so much, they are willing to stick with the other no matter what hard times may come their way. It is permanent. The whole point of dating is to see if two people are compatible; engagement is to see if the two would be happy living together. Marriage is supposed to be the final, and ultimate step, the permanent union between man and woman. And yet, nowadays, you'd be hard pressed to find a couple where neither one has had a divorce. People are getting married too quickly, making decisions too rashly, and then they separate. I ask you, what is the purpose of getting married if you can toss the marriage out the window just as easily as tossing a relationship out the window? Marriage is not a continuation of dating. Dating is over at that point. The couple are supposed to stick together through thick and thin. Marriage is a sign that they are happy with each other and want to spend the rest of their life with each other. When you really look at it, it is the most sacred, special promise that can be made. It is a promise of fidelity, of support, of help, of honesty, of love. It is so special that even for people that do not have a faith, they still have extravagant wedding ceremonies.
Sex. Go ahead, laugh or whatever, I typed it. Sex. What is sex to you? Is it a past time? A form of entertainment? A tool? This is the common concept of today, but I tell you, it is something much, much more! It has many euphemisms, but when you get down to it, sex is supposed to be the ultimate display of love between a man and a woman, a magical experience that shows their devotion to each other. Sex is required to consummate a marriage. Why do you think that is? It is something deep and intimate. When two people give themselves totally and utterly to each other, that has torn down any walls between them. They have reached a level of intimacy deeper than blood. When that happens, the wall can never be put back up. That level of intimacy can not be taken back, or backed away from. Their relationship undergoes a metamorphosis, one that can not be undone. It is supposed to be something special, and yet it is so casual nowadays. Teenagers do it, because they simply think it is fun. It is deeper than that. It is the very process in which the miracle of the creation of life happens. It is not referred to as "making love" for nothing. So try to remember this, and when you do it, try to look past the passion and feeling, and look at the beauty of the act.
