Season Pass or Not?

So, the past three years I have gotten a season pass to Pats Peak.  I love having one cause it just makes snowboarding that much easier, I can go when ever I want and for how long I desire. Snowboarding is probably one of my favorite sports and I love it. The only thing is that this winter my parents are unsure if they want to buy me a season pass or not. I think that it actually would be worth the money with the amount of times I go, which is a lot. They think the best idea economically is to just buy a pass every time I go. I mean it might be cheaper but than it's just a hassle of figuring out what time to go and plus all my other friends have season passes.

 I'm trying to convince my parents to buy me one before they get more expensive, but they are very set on the idea of not getting me one. I care a little bit but as long as I'm able to snowboard in general with my friends, thats all I care about. My passion for snowboarding is crazy and I would go everyday after school if I could, which sometimes I even do! But that was the beauty of having the pass because I could just go up for a couple hours.  Hopefully they will they turn around and desire to get me a pass, that would be a christmas miracle.

Magic

So today after school I decied to go home and watch tv. There was nothing on that intrested me and nothing good on On Demand. But then it hit me that last night I recorded David Blaine magic.

Yes I have seen this stuff before many times on the computer but never as a tv show. It amazes me what he can do, and yeah I believe it ALL. There was this one trick where he put this ice scraper/mini knife through his hand. When he did that no blood came out, not even any on the sword device. It completly went right through to the other side. He even went to the hospital to take an x-ray to prove that it went through . And of coarse it did! The doctors have no idea how that would be physically possible because there are tons of nerves and blood veins that run through the hand, there were shocked.

David Blaine is also famous for his close up magic with cards. He can do some pretty insane tricks with just one deck of normal playing cards. Like people would think of a number and all of a sudden it would just appear in their pocket or purse in the other room, crazy. Oh and there was another sweet one where someone had a $20 bill and he ripped off a little more than a corner, completyly off and eat and swallowed it. With the woman holding the bill he then
spit and all of  sudden the bill was back to noramal, not even wet or anything.

Magic is such a cool topic and it just amazes me what they can do. That most people think is physically or mentally impossible, but they prove them wrong. I would love to be able to do one of these tricks some day, I think there incrediable.

New York City

As the weekend of columbus day came I was preparing myself for the big journey ahead, NYC.  One of my aunts lives right in Manhattan so we go and visit her a couple times a year. She has a nice little apartment and is always welcome to us visiting. This time it was just my mom and I going. Since my sister had cheerleading practices all weekend. I was lucky enough to have last block off on the friday we left because we hit the road at a decent hour since there is always traffic. We arrived there about 6:00 and met my aunt and one of her friends for dinner. It was long day from school and the car ride so after we just crashed at the apartment for that night. We stayed until tuesday morning, so it was a good amount of time.

After sleeping in saturday morning we went out for breakfast to this cute little cafe a couple blocks down. It's one of my favorite places to go every time I come, its called The Grey Dog. We ate our food then headed to some little shops, all within walking distance. By the way whenever we go to the city we do a ton of walking just cause thats the main way of transportation and it's free. I love just walking down the blocks and looking at all the different types of people and shops there are, it's just so intriguing to me. For the rest of the day we kept walking around and went out for lunch and dinner.



One day that we were there my aunt, mom, and I took a ferry over to Brooklyn to go to one of the big flea markets. Being on the ferry crossing the river gave the city such a beautiful aspect. You could see all the tall buildings and sculpters. The flea market was very neat with lots of cute little antiques, but we didn't buy anything. We did find this amazing frozen yogurt place called 16 Handels. It was the best I have ever had, and had really creative toppings. The last days we did the usual stuff, walking around time square, went to central park, Rockafeller center, and then I did an job shadow at woman's health magazine. Unfortunately we had to eventually leave on tuesday and we got up real early and drove to Connecticut to tour Sacred Heart University. It was such an amazing college and it will be on my top choices.

The long nice vacation was coming to the end and we headed back to NH. The traffic was horrendous and we didn't end up getting home until 9:00 at night! Plus this was a school night so I had to wake up really early in the morning. I managed to do it though. I will be going back to the city soon and hope to make some more memories and go on more adventures.

Game last night

As I said in my previous blog I mentioned I was going to a Red Sox game. I did indeed go last night and it was thrilling. Looking forward to it all day I couldn't wait for the moment when I was actually there, in the stands cheering them on. That was the only thing I was thinking of all day and I could barley concentrate on school work. The moment finally came when the school bell rang and I rushed home to get ready for the long cold night ahead of me. Since my mom was working I had to meet her and then we dropped off one of the cars off at her work. We left pretty early around 4:30 thinking we would have enough time since the game didn't start untill seven. Surely enough we misjudged it and got stuck in a bunch of traffic going into boston.  No parking places on the side of the road what so ever and every parking lot was forty dollars or more for the game. It was ridiculous how much it was. We literally drove around for a half hour trying to find the cheapest place. We stumble across a thirty five dollar lot and immediately park there,  good walking distance to the stadium.

Finally parked and settled we head out to the park, just in time for the start. We grabbed our seats on the third base side and went to get food. We came back and then decided we wanted closer seats so my mom and I snagged some seats behind the plate, we were probably there for two innings. The ticket owners finally came and kicked us back to our original seats. It was a nice try though. The first at bat for the sox Pedroia is up and slams a home run to start it off. We were all amazed and surprised that it happened so early in the game. Another great thing that happened was the weather, it turned out to not be as cold as we thought. Bringing winter coats, gloves, and Uggs I prepared for the worst. Ended up a comfortable degree with all the body warmth. In conclusion my experience was totally fun even though they lost to the Orioles.

Great season

The boston Red Sox have had an amazing season from coming back from many games. last year they didn't do as hot. This year they have so many new players and actually work as team.  The whole season has been pretty much wining which is why their in first place place right now. With Tampa trailing not too far behind by 9 1/2 games and they have 15 games left in the season. The team is so much more exciting now and I cant ever miss a game on the t.v. last night they played the Rays and it was still tied in the 10th inning. Bases were loaded for the sox and Mike Carp gets up to the plate. This is game changer with what ever happens at the plate. And all of a sudden boom the tiny ball gets crushed and he gets a walk off grand slam to lead the sox for the win. It was a perfect end to the battling game, and defiantly was a must win game.  I went to a home game awhile ago and they actually played Tampa and ended up winning by a lot. Going to Fenway and experience the game live is one of the best feelings. I love the Adrelinine rush while there in the crowd. There are so many different types of people and it is whole new culture almost.

Walking into the stadium is such a great feeling, its like walking down a lane of history. Many amazing things happened right at this park. I got my ticket out and they punched it and gave it back, I still have the ticket in my room. Yawkey way is where there are vendors are selling clothes and gift shops all along it and is the entrance into the magnificent park. I grabbed my Fenway frank and headed to our seats. They were perfect pretty much right on the third base line. Exactly where I wanted them. The whole entire game I kept trying to not think of the game being over because I loved it so much there. The game finally ended and they came out with a win, I forgot the score though. Of coarse I took many of pictures to capture the moments of every play and the stadium itself. I absolutely love going to games and in fact I'm even going to game next week against the Orioles. I hope to give an update after I go to that one too and hopefully I'm a good luck charm so they win.

Ruined Music

Album review:

Growing up I'm sure every one listened to this horrific music. Designed by kids for kids is just a great idea, accept when they completely ruin the songs. All of their albums have been the same thing, squeaky voices, and clean versions to everything. Why yes of coarse I'm talking about Kidz Bop the cd that keeps producing new music all the time. They have 68 albums in total, thats a lot. As a kid I thought this was amazing and I loved it. But then I as grow older I came to realize I absolutely hate them. First of all they ruin songs and it just sounds so awful. I'm sure younger kids might enjoy this type of music but it gets very old and annoying. I can't believe their still coming out with new music, it needs to end. If you want to listen to the song just go and buy the real version, not the fake one. Although parents probably encourage their kids to listen to this instead of the explicit version, but hey thats their choice. I just personally aren't fond of them.
