Christmas Shopping Will Haunt Me

Although Christmas has been over now for about two weeks, the stress of gift giving is still haunting me. Over break I visited the Caribbean with my family; there I decided that I would finish up my shopping for my best friends since I only had a part of their present so far. As I walked along the beach shore shop to stop it was quite easy to pick out some presents that I found adequate enough, but I didn't have the money with me to get them both. So being the procrastinator I am, I bought a ring and sank back into my normal routine of falling asleep on the beach and playing 'fĂștbol' as it is called everywhere but America, and swimming, obviously.

The day off our departure, that's when it hit me, I completely forgot to get the present.

As if the flying experience was not enough stress, now I had to get something that at least looked like I put some thought into. As we pulled into the airport three hours before our flight I was floating on air, not worried at all about finding a great present and getting comfortable on the plane before take off. Yet that feeling quickly left me. As we went from stand still line to stand still line to stand still line to stand still line (yes four lines that were each longer than the one before) I was beginning to realize that I would have to come up with another way to get a present.

On the plane after skidding into the terminal, bags in hand, I was told by my mom that we had one more lay over in Puerto Rico, excited for the second opportunity I took a short nap.

After enjoying a slice of pizza and playing solitaire with my brothers for a good two hours I remembered that I stil had a gift to get. Yet my forgetfulness was way ahead of me. As I went to a little store only to find designer items that can be bought in the states I heard our plane get called for boarding. Not knowing what to do, I ran to a little kiosk threw seven dollars at a woman and took two bracelets that that took quite a while to locate from misplacing them in the midst of the shuffle.

We have yet to do this whole "Christmas gift exchange"and I am hoping that they will enjoy the funny story that goes along with their gifts.
