Developing a Christmas List

Coming up with a Christmas List is no easy task, there are a lot of factors that are involved in making a list that has wishes that can actually be met. If you took a look at my lists from when I was younger,  there would be pages and pages of methodically thought out items that I was 100% sure I needed in my life, even though my third grade self needed a horse or the newest laptop, for some reason when I would wake up in the wee hours of dusk, I would be shocked to see there was indeed not a miniature pony under the tree. Having this now lack of joy at the start of Christmas, I usually would end the day in my room sulking because my simple demand of a horse, to go with the suburban house we lived in, was not met. Over the years I stopped wanting large creatures but my Christmas demands were still outrageous, and looking back on them now I have a great time laughing at my younger self; because even when I was told I would not get my dream present, I always believed in my wishes. Christmas is now six days away and if you want to look at my Christmas list, here it is.

Nothing.

Nothing is my Christmas list, but at the same time, nothing is everything. I work every week to afford my spending habits, and Christmas time is one of the few days where my parents are forced to go to the store with me and buy my clothes and shoes without any complaint, even when it might be the ugliest piece on the rack. Just last week I went shopping with my mom for the sole reason of her to open her wallet and get her card to pay for my new things.

If you want me to tell the full truth, somewhere in my mind, of course I have a list. I really want this new phone case, and some white Vans, and new black boots I have had my eyes set on. But instead, this year I walked into my dad's office and told him as a family we should go away and enjoy our vacation somewhere other than frigid New Hampshire. Who doesn't love a vacation? Winter break is not only for Christmas, it's a break from work, school, and sports. For vacation this year we could actually do something, and that's what we are doing. My family and I decided to spend a few days down towards the equator to escape the cold New England weather. The next thing on my list is a shopping trip so I have clothes to wear, Christmas list 2.0?
