Click Here for a Free Case of Social Anxiety!

I admit. I am lazy. I am extremely lazy. But there is one word that will always get me up and moving.

Free.

I cannot resist free things. I will take up offers for free things even if they are thing I do not need, simply because they are free. And having to work for something does not change this. If I can get an item through a bit of manual labor, but not have to lose a dollar from my pocket, I will do it.

This is how I got stuck in the yearbook club.

There were signs all around the school advertising the yearbook. Yearbooks, only $55. But I don't have $55 to spend on that, so I was expecting to not get a yearbook for my senior year. Until another yearbook sign caught my eye. Join Yearbook Club. Put in 55 hours of work and get a free yearbook!

Free.

That word will be the death of me. Free led to joining yearbook club, which led to the predicament I am in now. I am expected to find 24 students in my grade willing to let me take their picture and answer a question.

I don't blame people for saying no. I would say no as well, not only because having your picture taken is awful, but also because I am horrible at socializing.

I feel bad for every person I have approached that has had to listen to me stutter over my words and try to spit out coherent thought. I just can not sound intelligent when speaking to people. I am not used to having to approach and speak with people, and I am simply no good at it.

Luckily, through the help of teachers, I have gotten most of the information I need. I only need 5 more answers, and then it's back to

  1. Insightful. You are not that bad of a speaker. Good luck with your yearbook, and the more you socialize, the better you will get at it.
