Ice has given me a freedom that no other object could ever do. The feeling of gliding on a smooth surface of ice with a stick in my hand and the endless possibilities I have out there is the most liberating feeling in the world. It's a place to think, a place to show my creativeness, and a place to bond with whoever shares the ice with me. The connection that hockey players have is matched through pain, sweat, and glory.
I learned to skate at the age of two and although I was unaware of it at the time, those skills I learned and developed have shaped me into not only the player I am today, but the person I am too.
To fail and repeat and fail again until i have succeeded taught me that persistance is the key to perfecting a skill.
