CAI Installation

When my sister was in high school with me, we had to share a car and it was miserable. The car was always filled with her trash and it didn't look like it was in the best shape. When she left later that year for college, it was one of the most happiest days ever for me. I finally had a car to myself! my friend had fixed it up with the money I had saved up but I wanted more than just looks. I wanted to get a cold air intake for the car but I couldn't afford one, so I decided to pull out the stock air box and replace it with an aftermarket air filter. I felt it gave me a little more horsepower and the sound of the engine increased. I thought this was it-- the sound was great with an add on of some hp. The car is complete, i thought to myself but my friend was coming up with new ideas to improve the car everyday and I could see dollar signs popping up all the time.

He came up with the idea of getting a CAI system but knew i could not afford it. We looked around online and in some auto part stores to see if we could find one for a reasonable price. There weren't to many options to fiddle with because the price was my biggest enemy. I honestly don't even know why I bothered looking in the stores because there prices are always the most expensive. One day we were searching the web, We found one for a great price that I could afford. I decided I would get so I placed the order and was expected to come within a week. These next several days felt like an eternity. I couldn't wait any longer for it to come in. When that day finally came, I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning. I planned on going home with my friend right after school to install it.

When 2:35pm came around, I couldn't wait to leave the school parking lot. My mind was rushing with excitement. I zoomed out of the parking lot and headed for home. I'm surprised I didn't get pulled over because I was flying down the road. When I arrived home, my friend was already there and the package was sitting on the front door step. We tore open the packaging and immediately started putting it together. I ripped out the other filter and the hose that was previously on and got to work. the time went by so fast it was amazing! About an hour went by and we were done. I did a test run to see if anything was loose or didn't sound right. Everything seemed to be in perfect shape and like that, it was done. I was so happy, I took it out for a drive around town that night.
